So a slight down -2.67% this month mailing due to the sharp correction in semiconductor and AI-related stocks.
- Chip stocks have fallen heavily, with the semiconductor sector now considered to be in a bear market (down more than 20% from its recent peak).
- Investors are questioning whether the enormous spending on AI infrastructure will produce enough profits to justify current valuations.
- This is weighing most heavily on the Nasdaq
As long I keep investing and ploughing £2500 into the market every month now.
I am in sight of retirement a year from now and would like the market to do well, but will that stop me from retiring from my job?
No because I plan to be invested in the stock market for another 30 years or so.

Compound Income
People always say the first £100,000 is the hardest, and I completely agree.
At the beginning, you’re investing your own hard-earned money, and the market movements barely seem to make a difference, progress feels slow, and it’s easy to wonder if it’s worth it.
But compounding is powerful.
Now that my portfolio has grown to over £500,000, my investments average around £7,000 a month in market growth the difference compared to the early days is incredible.
The biggest lesson, stay consistent. The first £100k takes the most patience, but once compounding starts working for you, the journey becomes much more rewarding.
Time in the market beats trying to time the market..
My Hobby
Lately, I’ve been getting enormous pleasure from learning about art. I’m currently reading about Gustav Klimt and Georgia O’Keeffe, while spending time looking closely at their paintings.
Klimt’s work is full of rich gold tones and intricate detail. After being shunned by parts of society, he lived a more solitary life and devoted himself to his art. Knowing that some of his paintings took years to complete and that people commissioning portraits sometimes had to wait over a year for a sitting, makes me appreciate the patience and craftsmanship behind every piece.

My first impression of Georgia O’Keeffe’s paintings was that they were simply large flowers. But the longer you look, the more you notice. Her use of close-up detail and the absence of distracting backgrounds draw your attention entirely to the subject. Works such as Bella Donna seem to reveal a deeper meaning, reminding us that beauty and danger can exist side by side. It’s fascinating to see how paintings like these have even been referenced in the TV series Pluribus to reinforce that idea of hidden danger in plain sight.
