Don’t worry this is not a self-pity story, but rather a rise from the ashes, a so-called epiphany moment
Bankrupt and broke at 40
Where did it all go wrong? I don’t think like that so no sob story here, instead a story of redemption.
I went to court to declare Bankruptcy and vow like Jean Valjean in Les Mes when he decided to take another path ..if there’s another way to go.

I like most people lived paycheck-to-paycheck and felt trapped, lacking the freedom and control over my own life, but once I lost everything material I knew something had to change. It was an epiphany moment, a sudden realisation that I didn’t have to accept this as my reality. There was another way, a path to financial independence and true freedom.
I stumbled upon the FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) movement, and it was like a lightbulb had been switched on. The principles of saving aggressively, investing wisely, and reclaiming my time resonated deeply. I knew then that this was the journey I needed to embark on.
No longer would I be a passive participant in my own life, drowning in debt and beholden to a paycheck. Instead, I would take control, make the necessary changes, and forge a new path towards FI (Financial Independence).
This blog will chronicle that journey, the ups, the downs, the lessons learned, and the milestones achieved. It’s not going to be easy, but I’m determined to rise from the ashes of my former circumstances and achieve the freedom I’ve always dreamed of.
Join me on this transformative adventure. Together, we can reclaim our lives and build the future we deserve.
